Outreach support
We deliver holistic wrap-around support to survivors in a range of community settings, or at a venue of her choosing based on her individual needs.
Our longer term, intensive outreach support and advocacy is available to women with additional support needs, often with multiple disadvantages and barriers who may not access other services. We use a variety of innovative and creative means to engage and support the woman based on what works best for her.
Our outreach advocates’ approach is flexible and centred on the woman, ensuring times and locations fit around her and her life. Our outreach support is trauma informed and based on her needs and circumstance and utilises her personal strengths to help empower her and improve her safety.

Groups and workshops
Our women’s centres are safe spaces where women and girls can join in activities, workshops and courses, delivered for women and by women. Advance Group Programme offers a safe and non-judgmental environment for women to improve their wellbeing and develop new skills in group settings.
The programme is designed to empower women through various activities and workshops. We organise a series of workshops geared towards self esteem and confidence building, positive supportive social skills and self care. All of our workshops and group activities are delivered by trained and experienced facilitators passionate about women’s empowerment.
These include (monthly calendar may vary):
- Drop-ins sessions at our Women’s Centre
- Peer support groups with women who have also lived with domestic abuse
- Workshops for financial advice; parenting; health and wellbeing
- An Understanding domestic abuse programme
- Specialist counselling and therapeutic groups
- Skills and confidence building workshops

Peer support group
The Peer Mentors at Advance offers support to women both through ‘long-term support’ and ‘one-off support’.
If the client requires support to just one specific appointment, we will support her to attend that appointment; however the option for long-term support is always available to her.
Peer Mentors may be based at one of our women’s centers to support the women presenting there, this may be to attend appointments, groups or to be a general listening ear for the women in the waiting area.

Women's Centre
At Advance, women and girls have a warm, welcoming place to go where they feel safe and supported.
Our Women’s centres are designed with our women in mind, whether they are here to attend group workshops, one to one sessions with their key workers, or simply a drop in, chat and a warm drink.
We aim to create an environment where women feel they have some where to go, where they can open up and be themselves; some where they can learn, laugh and heal.
