Last Thursday, we were part of the instigation of a signed a joint letter, with 76 other women’s sector organisations and led by Women’s Aid, to send an urgent message to the Home Secretary which states that the violence is terrifying for our society, and specifically for the women and children supported by our services who have experienced male violence. The letter can be found here: Women’s Aid and 76 member organisations issue joint letter to the Home Secretary following the Southport attack demanding it be seen as part of the wider epidemic of violence against women and girls plaguing the country – Women’s Aid (womensaid.org.uk).
We reject all forms of xenophobia and racism and stand in solidarity to support our communities.

About Advance
- Advance’s vision is a world in which women and children lead safe, equal, violence-free lives so that they can flourish and actively contribute to society. The charity works with women who experience domestic abuse to be safe and take control of their lives, and women who have committed crime or are at risk of offending to break the cycle.
- As well as providing direct support, Advance works with statutory services, government agencies and other women’s charities to ensure a holistic approach to the issues these women face.
- Women must be referred to Advance, via statutory services or the charity’s self-referral scheme. For more information about who Advance is able to support, please visit Get help
