A safe, just and equal world for women

London Whole Housing service extended

January 8, 2024
Advance’s Whole Housing Service has been extended for a further two years across 11 London boroughs, ensuring more women can be supported with their housing needs.

We’re delighted that our Whole Housing Service has been extended for a further two years across 11 London boroughs. This allows us to continue to deliver our best practice approach to supporting women with their housing, so that they can stay safe wherever they live.

Women affected by domestic abuse should not have to flee. Instead, this service helps them to be safe in their own home or in a range of accommodation types, as well as supporting them with their finances, mental health and other issues.

The effects of the pandemic and cost-of-living crisis continue to disproportionately impact women and their children, leaving many with an impossible decision: stay with the perpetrator abusing them or face poverty and homelessness.

In response to this, we developed the London Whole Housing Services Alliance with six specialist partners. Our collaborative approach ensures additional specialist support is inclusive of those often marginalised, such as LGBTQ+ survivors, those with additional language or mental health support needs, and those who wish to access other culturally specific services.
