A safe, just and equal world for women

St James’s Facilities makes donation to Advance’s East London Women’s Centre

July 17, 2024
London based St James’s Facilities Services visited charity Advance’s East London Women’s Centre in Stratford with a donation of clothes to help survivors of domestic abuse or those who have experienced the criminal justice system.

Advance delivers wraparound frontline services in the community helping women with their emotional, health, financial and housing needs.

Sandrine Lee, Operations and Support Services Director at St James’s Facilities, said:
“Growing up as a Londoner, and being an employer in London, I feel very passionate about supporting the community we live and work in. Having spoken to Advance about the barriers women face to escape abuse, and move on with their lives, we are pleased to work in partnership to provide smart clothing to their 11 Advance Women’s Centres.”

“We are excited about our evolving partnership with Advance and supporting their vital work in helping women to live safe, free and equal lives.”

Liz Mack, CEO of Advance, said:
“Support from local businesses allows us to reach more women and help them to rebuild their lives after the trauma of domestic abuse and experience of the criminal justice system. Having access to clothing which can help with rehabilitation, whether for a specific reason such as a legal appointment or job interview, or just to have a smart piece of clothing in someone’s wardrobe to boost their self-confidence provides such impactful supporting for so many women, we are so thankful to St James’s.”

Clothes will be available in all 11 Advance Women’s Centres for women to take whenever they need.
