We are pleased to be relaunching the ADVANCETALK series. As part of this year’s 16 Days of Activism, we are highlighting the various ways in which the criminal justice system intersects with domestic abuse and other forms of gendered violence. Too often, women who are victims of serious crime are criminalised rather than supported, uprooting their lives, and the lives of their loved ones. Too often this does not need to be the case. There is #NoExcuse to criminalise victims.

We are proud to officially relaunch ADVANCETALK, a series of four insightful events that delve into the complex intersections between women’s experiences of domestic abuse and their involvement in offending and the criminal justice system. This series seeks to address the often-overlooked links between these two issues and advocate for deeper understanding, and systemic change.

With over 25 years of experience working with women and girls affected by both domestic abuse and the criminal justice system, Advance is committed to creating spaces for meaningful dialogue and solutions.

It’s been almost 20 years since the Corston Report was published, yet the need for significant reform remains urgent. Much work still needs to be done to ensure that women impacted receive the support, justice, and protection they deserve.
